Tails - a seafood restaurant and fish butchery in the centre of Riga, is Studio Cache’s first hospitality project in Latvia. The studio strove to allude to the restaurant’s name and menu without making overtly direct visual references. Instead, each zone of the space conveys a unique atmosphere of the sea using specific material and colour palettes. The result is what could be considered an ode to the country’s fishing and maritime heritage, with references to the aesthetic of a weathered and exposed maritime landscape running as a theme throughout.
